Tunnel Ventilation

Civil Engineering
Project Overview

A publicly-listed company that provides construction services to the resources and infrastructure industries was performing dam tunnel repair work, involving diesel-powered equipment. We were able to provide and install a flexible and fully customised ventilation solution.

Challenge

The company would be working within an incredibly long tunnel – 200 metres, with only one entry point. Workers would be using diesel-powered machinery whilst doing concrete pours, formwork, scabbling and minor welding. They needed fresh, clean air pushed into the long space.

Solution

RVT Group prescribed, delivered and installed our VENTEX® Ventilation Kit, including two of our VENTEX Axial 1250S hp fans, our SOUNDEX® Fan Exhaust Attenuator and 200 metres of ducting.

The client’s 10 workers were able to carry out work safely within the tunnel – their long-term health protected with sufficient ventilation and continuous high-powered airflow.
