RVT Eliminate Toxic Particles, Protecting Workers and the Environment

Construction
Project Overview

In the first half of the last century Lead-based paint was widely used on industrial structures across Australia due to its corrosion resistance and durability. As so many painted structures now need recoating this makes blasting and stripping works very hazardous for workers.

Challenge

Lead paint can cause a variety of issues when exposed to the human body and can affect the brain and nervous system potentially causing coma, convulsions and in extreme cases death.

Solution

For this water pipeline remediation project, RVT supplied a Clearblast dust collection system with the addition of a HEPA filter unit to ensure total filtration to 99.97%. This piece of specialist equipment not only protects workers, but also safeguards the surrounding environment by preventing the spread of toxic particles.
