RVT Group Helps Tier 1 Construction Group to Protect Workers from Dust and Noise Hazards

Construction
Project Overview

Our clients in the commercial construction space had a significant construction project involving potential sound and dust hazards in Brisbane's northside.

Challenge

These repeat Tier 1 construction clients were building a large commercial space in Brisbane's northside. The building had neighbours on either side, so sound suppression was required for some of the works.

They were also planning to undertake floor grinding and the dust from this activity — if not controlled — could cause significant damage to the operator's and surrounding workers' lungs. Crystalline silica is commonly found in concrete, and can cause silicosis and other occupational lung diseases if inhaled.

Solution

We recommended and provided our multipurpose and moveable SOUNDEX® sound enclosure — which contained and suppressed the floor grinding noise, and our DUSTEX® Raptor Pro mobile dust extraction (negative pressure) kit with ducting.

Through this vacuum system and completely, moveable enclosure — all airborne silica dust was safely extracted, and sound was suppressed during this work.

Construction workers stayed safe and healthy, and surrounding neighbours stayed happy. The construction site with our engineered hazard controls was compliant.
